Start here

Daedalus is a desktop app for building data workflows on a canvas. You connect nodes, and each node is one step: read a file, filter rows, join two tables, draw a map, write a report. Runs happen on your own machine. Your data stays there unless you choose to send it somewhere, for example by using an AI feature, a share link or a cloud run.

How a workflow works

  1. Add data. Drop a file or folder on the canvas, or add a source from the Drones panel on the left. A source can be a database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, Snowflake), S3, Salesforce, Strava, a web page or a web API.
  2. Add steps. Right-click the canvas, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), and search for a node. Names from other tools work too, so searching Summarize, GroupBy or Merge Queries finds Aggregate or Join.
  3. Configure. Select a node and set it up in the Attributes panel on the right.
  4. Run and look. Run the workflow. The panel under the canvas shows the selected node's output as a table, map, chart or report.
  5. Deliver. Write files, load a database, send an email or a Slack message, build a PDF or PowerPoint report, or deploy the workflow to cloud runs to run on a schedule.

Ask the Assistant

The Assistant pane answers questions about Daedalus from a built-in description of the app, and it links the page here that covers the answer. It can also build or change your workflow for you. You can always see what it did, and you can undo each turn. Like every AI feature, it is optional.
