REST Fetch
Pulls data from a web address into a table. Enter the URL and press Generate fetch, and the code that fetches and parses the response is written for you.
Also known as: API, web scraping, download
How it works
Type the endpoint in the URL field, optionally describe what to extract in the box below, and press Generate fetch. Code that calls the endpoint and parses the JSON into a table is written and stored on the node; the node runs that code on every run, and it does not run at all until the code exists. The status icon shows generating, fetching, done or an error. If the address answers with a web page instead of data, the node says so and points you to Add data source → Web Page.
Inputs and outputs
Inputs
None — this node starts a workflow.
Outputs
data— Table
Settings
The Attributes panel of REST Fetch, as in the app: the controls work, but nothing runs — there is no data behind it.
Example
URL https://api.example.com/v1/orders?status=open, prompt "one row per order with id, total and created_at", then Generate fetch. The preview shows the three columns; later runs call the endpoint again.
