Write Report

Saves the report from Report Assembly as a PDF, an HTML file or an editable PowerPoint deck. Fed by a loop, it merges every report into one document.

Also known as: PDF, PowerPoint, render

How it works

Wire a Report Assembly node in and pick the Format: PDF (the default), HTML or PowerPoint. The File name takes the matching extension (report.pdf, report.html or report.pptx), and switching format swaps the extension for you when the name still carries the old one; Location is the project folder unless you choose another. The write fails if the file already exists unless you tick Overwrite if the file already exists.

PDF takes its page size, orientation and margins from the report's theme, edited through the Report Assembly node's Edit theme…. HTML is a standalone document, and wiring it into an Email node's body input sends the report as the email body. PowerPoint writes an editable 16:9 deck, one slide per layout page, with tables as real PowerPoint tables. Inside a loop, the file name can take a per-item token, and a writer fed by a loop merges every bundle into one document or deck. The Report tab under the canvas shows the written PDF or HTML; a deck opens in PowerPoint.

Inputs

Settings

The Attributes panel of Write Report, as in the app: the controls work, but nothing runs — there is no data behind it.

The same settings, as the Assistant writes them
{
  format: "pdf" | "html" | "pptx"
  fileName: string
  overwrite?: boolean
}

fileName is a basename whose extension matches the format, e.g. "weekly-report.pdf"; use "html" when the report becomes an email body

Example

The monthly report goes to managers by email and to the archive as a PDF. Add two Write Report nodes on the same Report Assembly: one with Format HTML wired into Email, and one with Format PDF, File store-report-2026-10.pdf and Overwrite ticked.
