Daedalus Table Reader

Reads a .ddtable file saved by Write Daedalus Table, in this project or another one. The column formats come back too, so everything prints as it did.

Also known as: Hand-off, checkpoint

How it works

Pick the file with Choose .ddtable file… in Daedalus table; Replace… swaps it for another. The column formats and bulk rules saved in the file are restored onto this node, listed under Restored formatting, so every node downstream prints them without a Format Table of its own; to change one, add a Format Table after this node. Re-running reads the file as it is now, so a file exported again upstream is picked up on the next run; when its formats changed since you picked it, the panel warns and Reload formats brings the new ones in.

Inputs

None — this node starts a workflow.

Outputs

  • data — Table

Settings

The Attributes panel of Daedalus Table Reader, as in the app: the controls work, but nothing runs — there is no data behind it.

Example

A colleague's project ends in Write Daedalus Table writing monthly-close.ddtable with amounts formatted as currency. Your project starts with this node pointed at that file; the Data tab shows the amounts as currency from the first preview.
